Morse Code: War

About

“Educational games” are often neither educational nor fun at the same time. Some effectively communicate and teach a skill, then fall short on player retention and repeat play. Others have high player retention, however the intended skills are not committed to long term memory, or developed to a useful level.

I have one goal for this project as I continue development - I want the player to learn Morse Code, without thinking about learning Morse Code (i.e. having fun).

I intend to do this by using the taught skill (expressing and interpreting information in Morse code) as a gameplay mechanic and core narrative driver. The player’s learning curve directly influences narrative progression and access to advanced game mechanics.
